The companies are set to construct a hydrogen production plant on-site, investing over PLN 100 million to supply process gas to galvanizing plants by the end of 2026. This initiative marks a significant shift for ArcelorMittal Poland, as it has already phased out coal as a fuel source since 2018 and eliminated coke production in July this year, operating solely on natural gas.
