SFC Energy AG, a leading provider of hydrogen and methanol fuel cells, has successfully completed the acquisition of selected assets of the stationary hydrogen fuel cell business in Scandinavia from Ballard Power Systems Europe A/S. The acquisition includes intellectual property rights, customer contracts, and an existing installed base of hydrogen fuel cell solutions in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. This move has expanded SFC's product portfolio to include stationary fuel cells with an output range below 50 kW. The subsidiary SFC Energy Denmark ApS has been established to drive market penetration in Northern European regions. The company expects the acquired business to generate sales in the mid-single-digit million Euro range and make positive contributions to EBITDA and EBIT starting from 2025. Research and development activities, as well as production, will be integrated into SFC's existing organizations in Germany and a new facility in Romania.
