BluJ Aero, a developer of long-range VTOL aircraft based in Hyderabad, has joined forces with Blade India, an urban air mobility company, to purchase 60 VTOL aircraft for cargo and passenger transportation in India. This partnership includes acquiring 50 BluJ REACH cargo aircraft and 10 BluJ HOP passenger aircraft. The BluJ REACH, an unmanned Hydrogen Electric powered VTOL aircraft, is designed for mid-mile logistics with a range of up to 300 kilometers and a payload capacity of 100 kilograms, facilitating same-day deliveries in underserved areas. The BluJ HOP, a piloted hydrogen-electric VTOL aircraft, is aimed at safe and economical regional passenger travel. Blade India, a joint venture between Blade USA and Hunch Ventures, sees this partnership as a game-changer in regional mobility, providing aerial access to regions without traditional airports and helping decongest existing ones.
