The Union Minister for New & Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, highlighted the importance of startups and youth engagement in advancing India's transition towards clean energy during the curtain-raiser for the 2nd International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH-2024) in New Delhi. Green hydrogen was a central focus, with an emphasis on injecting innovation and fresh ideas through startup involvement. The event, scheduled from September 11-13, aims to bring together over 6,000 participants, including startups, industry leaders, and global experts. The National Green Hydrogen Mission's objectives include establishing pilot projects in sectors like steel, shipping, and mobility and fostering research with a significant budget allocation. Bhupinder S. Bhalla, Secretary of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, stressed the importance of expanding green hydrogen production and international cooperation. The conference will feature discussions on green financing, infrastructure, and youth engagement, with initiatives like the GH2thon hackathon encouraging students and startups to contribute innovative solutions to the sector.
