Hygenco Green Energies Pvt Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with REC Limited to secure funding for its Green Ammonia Project in Gopalpur, Odisha, aimed at reducing carbon emissions. The agreement, formalized during the 4th Global Re-Invest event in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, will see REC providing financial support of up to $280 million for the project. Hygenco is set to invest around US$2.5 billion in green hydrogen and green ammonia projects across India in the coming years as part of its commitment to energy security and the Indian government's vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Amit Bansal, the co-founder and CEO of Hygenco, highlighted the company's dedication to reducing carbon emissions and fostering a sustainable future through their initiatives. With successful ventures like India's first commercial green hydrogen plant in Hisar, Haryana, and strategic partnerships with key players such as Jindal Stainless and Sterlite Technologies, Hygenco is making significant strides in the green energy sector.
