The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has released guidelines for a funding scheme to support the development of testing facilities, infrastructure, and standards under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. With a total budget of Rs 200 crore allocated for 2024-26, the scheme aims to bridge gaps in existing testing facilities for Green Hydrogen components and processes. Government entities are eligible for full funding of capital costs, including equipment installation, while private entities can avail 70% coverage. The initiative focuses on enhancing safety and security in operations by creating new testing facilities and upgrading existing ones. Projects aligned with developing testing and certification infrastructure for the Green Hydrogen value chain will receive support. The National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) will oversee the implementation and bidding process for setting up these facilities, with a goal to advance the standards and regulatory framework in the Green Hydrogen sector.
