One of the pivotal responsibilities of the Centre will be managing carbon, hydrogen, and low-carbon product certifications, facilitating carbon certificate trading, and maintaining an inventory of carbon emissions from diverse sources. Public awareness and community engagement will also be prioritized to facilitate a broader understanding of sustainability initiatives. Oman's strides in the energy sector, particularly in renewable energy and hydrogen production, are noteworthy. The country is poised to emerge as a leading low-emissions hydrogen supplier, with ambitious plans to produce 1 million tonnes of green hydrogen by 2030. This strategic move positions Oman to potentially become the largest hydrogen exporter in the Middle East, highlighting its commitment to sustainable energy production and reducing carbon emissions. The launch of the National Net Zero Program's Net 3 initiatives underscores Oman's dedication to accelerating efforts in achieving carbon reduction targets across key sectors.
