Italy’s MASK Architects have unveiled plans for the world’s first hydrogen-powered floating luxury resort in the Middle East, setting a new standard for sustainable and opulent travel experiences. The resort, set to span a 6.2-mile coastline along the Persian Gulf, will integrate parts of the UAE and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing a futuristic and eco-conscious approach to hospitality. Designed to resemble palm leaves, the resort will offer 36 private floating villas interconnected by a luxurious recreational area. All energy requirements will be met through hydrogen produced via water electrolysis, complemented by solar desalination plants and transparent solar glass panels. The architects emphasize a modular construction method to minimize environmental impact and ensure a seamless blend with the coastal surroundings. Additionally, AI technology will play a crucial role in predictive maintenance, optimizing the resort’s efficiency and sustainability. Not only focusing on luxury, the project aims to provide a sanctuary where sustainable energy, innovative design, and nature converge harmoniously. In line with the UAE and Saudi Arabia's commitment to net-zero carbon goals, this resort aligns with the vision for a more sustainable and diverse economy.
