British climate tech startup Levidian and Swedish deep-tech startup Graphmatech have joined forces to co-develop new graphene-based polymer solutions for the hydrogen sector and other growing industries. Levidian's LOOP technology captures carbon from methane, enabling decarbonization of gas flows and production of clean hydrogen and high-quality graphene. Graphmatech's Aros Graphene® technology allows efficient integration of graphene into materials, enhancing their properties. The partnership aims to boost graphene market adoption, focusing on manufacturing polymer-graphene composites for various industrial applications like pipelines and hydrogen pressure vessels, where graphene significantly reduces gas leakage. The collaboration will involve product development in the UK and Sweden, with plans for expansion in the Middle East, particularly in Abu Dhabi. This strategic move aligns with the forecasted 3.3-fold increase in global hydrogen demand by 2050, emphasizing the necessity for technological advancements and infrastructure development in the hydrogen sector. Both companies are optimistic about the potential of this collaboration to drive sustainable progress and contribute to global sustainability goals.
