Nikola has announced the opening of its first official Hyla hydrogen refuelling station in northern California, located in West Sacramento. This new compact, high-pressure refueller at 917 Stillwater Rd. will be capable of servicing up to 20 Class 8 trucks daily. The station, part of Nikola's infrastructure brand Hyla, aims to provide convenient access for fleet customers in the area. In addition to existing stations in Ontario and Santa Fe Springs, Nikola plans to extend the refuelling network along the north-south I-5 freight corridor in California, Oregon, and Washington. The company has received significant funding to develop a network of seven hydrogen refuelling stations in California. The California State Senator, Christopher Cabaldon, highlighted that the new station will support the acceleration of zero-emission truck adoption in the state. Nikola's mobile refueller model, offering 700 bar hydrogen for heavy-duty trucks, combined with tube trailer storage, is a significant step towards sustainable transportation. This expansion signifies Nikola's commitment to promoting hydrogen infrastructure and zero-emission solutions in the transportation sector.
