ZeroAvia has appointed Billy Nolen, a former FAA administrator, as a senior strategy & regulatory advisor. Nolen, with extensive experience in safety, aviation, and regulatory affairs, will collaborate with ZeroAvia to expedite the certification process of its 600kW electric propulsion system and full hydrogen-electric powertrains. ZeroAvia recently received a FAA G-1 issue paper for its electric propulsion system and is working on certifying its first hydrogen-electric powertrain, ZA600, with the UK CAA. Nolen's background includes over 25 years at American Airlines as a pilot and safety-focused roles with various airlines before joining the FAA.
