In a significant move towards energy transition and the National Green Hydrogen Mission, the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways virtually flagged off electrolysers for the upcoming Green Hydrogen plant at Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) in Kandla port. The plant, set to be operational by July 2025, will produce 18 kg of hydrogen per hour, utilizing indigenous electrolysers manufactured under the Make-in-India initiative by L&T. This initiative at DPA Kandla is poised to establish India's first port-based Green Hydrogen Plant and will serve as a beacon for sustainable port operations. The expansion plans include venturing into Green Ammonia production, aligning with India's Net Zero goals. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is driving advanced green energy initiatives to decarbonize the maritime sector. The flag-off ceremony was attended by key officials from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, emphasizing the national commitment to embracing green technologies for a sustainable future.
