The Ministry of Railways in India is on the verge of launching the first hydrogen train, a remarkable feat in the realm of green technology. Chennai-based Integral Coach Factory (ICF) is responsible for manufacturing the pioneering 1,200 HP hydrogen train, aiming to support the nation's zero-carbon emission goals. With an allocated budget of Rs 2800 crore, India plans to develop 35 hydrogen fuel cell-based trains, signifying a substantial investment in clean energy transportation. The high capacity of the Indian hydrogen train engine, a record-breaking 1,200 HP, positions India as a global leader in the field.
