The Green Energy Transition Indonesia (GETI) program, with support from the British Embassy in Jakarta, is spearheading the Indonesia Green Hydrogen Accelerator initiative to ramp up investments in low-carbon energy. This initiative aligns with the National Hydrogen Strategy (SHN) by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, aiming to establish a green hydrogen business ecosystem. The SHN targets the period 2025-2030 to lay the foundation for Indonesia's hydrogen market development, focusing on standards, regulations, and certifications. Despite the current hydrogen production primarily serving the fertilizer industry, Indonesia foresees a significant rise in low-carbon hydrogen usage by 2060, propelled by abundant renewable energy sources. In parallel, the Global Hydrogen Ecosystem Summit, supported by various organizations, seeks to drive global collaboration for hydrogen's prominence in Indonesia's green energy shift. Complementing this, a webinar series by IESR will delve into green hydrogen fundamentals, production technology, and industry applications, aiming to enhance public awareness and workforce readiness. These initiatives collectively aim to boost Indonesia's green hydrogen ecosystem, promoting sustainability, decarbonization, and industrial development.
