During the 6th South Asian Geo-science Conference and Exhibition in New Delhi, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri expressed India's ambitions to lead in global hydrogen energy production and exports. He highlighted initiatives like hydrogen blending, localisation of electrolyzer-based technologies, and the promotion of bio-pathways for green hydrogen production as steps towards this goal. Minister Puri also underscored India's remarkable growth in fuel demand, expected to reach 7 million barrels by 2030. The government's reform agenda in the oil and gas sector, including amendments to existing laws to provide policy stability, ease of doing business, and boost domestic output, aims to decrease reliance on imports. Additionally, a joint working group has been formed to address industry concerns and enhance the ease of doing business by resolving contractual matters and settling long-standing disputes amicably.
