The Odisha government is gearing up to invest Rs 4,000 crore in the establishment of a ship recycling hub near Paradip Port to elevate the state's maritime and industrial capabilities. In addition to this, the state is planning the construction of two new ports in Inchuri and Bahuda, with a significant focus on private sector involvement, aiming to handle a capacity of 40 million tonnes each. Odisha is also turning its attention towards hydrogen manufacturing facilities, intending to commence production by the end of 2026. Furthermore, the state is actively seeking investments in railway infrastructure to facilitate the transportation of minerals and coal. In a bid to attract more investment, Odisha is developing policies to incentivize the establishment of data centers and global capability centers (GCCs). As part of its strategy to boost the digital sector, a 250-acre plot near Bhubaneswar has been earmarked for the development of an electronic city. The Paradip Port Authority is poised to take a crucial role in setting up a significant shipbuilding and repair facility, which is anticipated to enhance the region's industrial capabilities and contribute to the growth of the maritime industry.
