Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG) in Mumbai, led by Jamshyd Godrej, recently revealed plans for sustainable growth strategies following an amicable split in the conglomerate. The company will invest Rs 7,500 crore across its various businesses in the next three years. Key areas of focus for growth include green hydrogen, energy storage, and recycled construction materials, with investments already made in two US-based startups. GEG aims to transform into an engineering and design-led conglomerate with a strong emphasis on sustainability, targeting to derive half of its revenues from 'green products' by 2032. The organization has been restructured into three clusters: consumer-first, nation-first, and future-first businesses. Significant investments are planned for expanding capacities, research and development, and technology. Anil Verma, the CEO of Godrej & Boyce, announced a Rs 4,500 crore investment in plant and machinery over the next three years. The company's revenue target is to reach Rs 20,000 crore from the current Rs 16,000 crore. The business does not plan on accessing public markets for capital but may consider it in the future if necessary.
