Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated a unique 'green hydrogen' project set up by Hero Future Energies at Rockman Industries in Tirupati. The project, with an annual capacity of 25 tonnes, will produce green hydrogen for blending with LPG and PNG in industrial furnaces, reducing carbon emissions significantly. Naidu expressed Andhra Pradesh's readiness to lead India's green hydrogen revolution, utilizing the state's renewable resources and industrial demand. The Chief Minister highlighted the state government's commitment to reducing reliance on fossil fuels, supporting India's target of 'net-zero by 2070,' while enhancing energy security and cutting crude oil imports. The state's Integrated Clean Energy (ICE) policy aims to add 160 GW of renewable energy capacity and attract investments totaling Rs 10 trillion over the next five years. The event was attended by prominent officials and industry leaders, emphasizing the importance of the green hydrogen project. Naidu assured continued support for clean energy initiatives, promising to scale up such efforts for a sustainable and prosperous future.
