In Oman, a strategic workshop was held to plan a dedicated Green Hydrogen Zone in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, covering 17 sq km. This initiative is a crucial part of Oman's efforts towards a green hydrogen industry and achieving Net-Zero targets. The zone in Duqm aims to support investors in the green hydrogen sector, contributing to the country's clean energy strategy. It will host downstream components of five major green hydrogen projects by consortiums like Amnah, HyDuqm, GEO, BP, and HyPort Duqm. Additionally, the zone will house infrastructure for green ammonia, green methanol, and other green commodities production derived from hydrogen. Collaboration among stakeholders including Hydrom and national champions like Oman Electricity Transmission Company ensures the development of common infrastructure for these projects. The Duqm Green Hydrogen Zone will also have dedicated service corridors, export terminals, and consumption zones to facilitate seamless delivery across the value chain. This initiative highlights SEZAD's commitment to enabling sustainable projects and solidifying its position as a leading green energy hub in the region.
