The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and British counterparts recently joined forces in New Delhi to host a two-day workshop on green hydrogen standardization. The event, in collaboration with the British Standards Institution (BSI) and the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), focused on aligning international standards to promote safe and scalable hydrogen production. This initiative is crucial for supporting India's National Green Hydrogen Mission and facilitating a competitive green hydrogen economy. The workshop emphasized the importance of Regulations, Codes, and Standards (RCS) in the hydrogen sector, with a particular focus on fast-track PAS standards and global certification. Various stakeholders, including policymakers, technical experts, and industry leaders from India and the UK, participated, highlighting the collaborative effort towards clean energy transitions. The workshop is part of the UK government's Standards Partnership program, which aims to boost trade and growth by encouraging the adoption of international standards in India.
