ACWA Power, a Saudi-listed company, has partnered with SEFE, a German company, to establish a hydrogen bridge between Saudi Arabia and Germany. The collaboration aims to supply 200,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually to Europe by 2030, with ACWA Power leading the development and operation of green hydrogen and green ammonia production assets, while SEFE will be the primary off-taker and market the green hydrogen to its European customers. This partnership supports Germany's efforts to transition to sustainable energy sources and reduce emissions. ACWA Power and SEFE's agreement also aligns with the Saudi-German energy dialogue and aims to enhance developmental sustainability, job opportunities, and environmental protection. SEFE's strategic position in the green hydrogen supply chain, with a customer portfolio of 200 terawatt-hours annually, further strengthens the collaboration. ACWA Power's existing green hydrogen projects in NEOM and Uzbekistan, as well as its initiatives in Tunisia and Egypt, demonstrate its commitment to advancing the green hydrogen economy.
