Hy2gen Canada Inc, a subsidiary of Hy2gen AG, has been chosen by Quebec's Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy to receive a block of electricity to produce green hydrogen and ammonia in Baie-Comeau. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the Baie-Comeau community over the past four years, is set to facilitate the decarbonization of Quebec, promote economic development, and create jobs in the region by establishing an industrial ecosystem. The project is subject to an agreement with Hydro-Québec, which will supply the electricity needed for hydrogen and green ammonia production. If the final investment decision is positive, construction of the green ammonia plant is scheduled to commence in the second half of 2026, with the first green ammonia production expected in 2029, depending on Hydro-Québec's connection schedule.
