HydroFleet has announced a significant investment of nearly $33 million in constructing a hydrogen production and fueling station in Pooler, Georgia. The purpose of this station is to cater to heavy-duty hydrogen fuel cell trucks, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable transportation system. HydroFleet, a specialized hydrogen equipment and fuel supplier, has a successful track record of delivering large quantities of gaseous hydrogen fuel to end user fleets. The strategic location of Pooler, with its proximity to major interstates and the Port of Savannah, makes it an ideal spot for HydroFleet's facility. The company's CEO, Scott Moe, highlighted the importance of providing a competitive price for the entire hydrogen ecosystem to meet the increasing demand for zero-emission fleets. The investment is not only about advancing sustainable innovation but also about boosting economic growth in the region. Mayor Karen Williams praised the project, emphasizing the positive impact it will have on the local economy and the environment by reducing emissions and noise pollution. The facility is expected to start by refueling 7-14 trucks a day, with plans for future expansion to accommodate up to 50 trucks daily. Additionally, the deployment of Hyundai XCIENT heavy-duty hydrogen fuel-cell electric trucks by Hyundai Motor Group underlines the shift towards cleaner logistics operations in the U.S. with a focus on hydrogen-powered vehicles.
