Volvo Trucks has unveiled plans to introduce a new long-range version of its FH Electric truck, capable of covering up to 600 kilometers on a single charge. This innovation is set to revolutionize interregional and long-distance transport by allowing trucks to operate for a full working day without the need for recharging. Scheduled for release in the second half of 2025, the Volvo FH Electric will incorporate the latest e-axle driveline technology, enhancing battery capacity and overall efficiency. Volvo Trucks' President, Roger Alm, highlighted the significance of this development in enabling zero-emission transport for longer distances, particularly benefiting transport companies aiming to reduce CO2 emissions. Moreover, Volvo Trucks has partnered with logistics firm DSV to deliver 300 electric heavy trucks along with 500 fuel-efficient diesel and gas trucks between 2024 and 2026. This initiative aligns with Volvo Trucks' ambition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040, leveraging a three-path technology strategy that includes battery electric, fuel cell electric, and renewable fuel solutions. Jan Hjelmgren, Volvo Trucks' head of product management and quality, emphasized the company's increased green investments and the importance of policy support for widespread adoption of zero-emission vehicles.
