Verdagy Partners with Black & Veatch for Texas Clean Hydrogen Plant FEED Study
Key Ideas
  • Verdagy has chosen Black & Veatch for a FEED study of a 60-megawatt clean hydrogen project in Texas, aiming to produce over 9,000 tons/year of clean hydrogen.
  • The project is set to bring more than $150 million in investment to Texas, create American jobs, and contribute to U.S. energy exports.
  • Black & Veatch's expertise in engineering, procurement, and construction will support this project, which utilizes Verdagy's eDynamic® electrolyzers designed to match the ERCOT grid's energy variations and meet compliance requirements.
  • The partnership between Verdagy and Black & Veatch aims to strengthen the U.S. energy industry and pave the way for future hydrogen projects in the state.
Verdagy, a prominent clean hydrogen electrolysis company, has enlisted the services of Black & Veatch, a global engineering and construction firm, for a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) study for a significant project in Texas. This project, with a capacity of 60-megawatts, is designed to produce more than 9,000 tons/year of clean hydrogen near the Gulf Coast. The targeted completion for the FEED study is set for May 2025, with a Final Investment Decision (FID) expected in July 2025. Verdagy's President, Rahul Bammi, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with Black & Veatch and highlighted the positive economic impact the project will have on Texas. Anand Pattani from Black & Veatch also emphasized their experience in project execution and their commitment to supporting Verdagy in this venture. The project will utilize Verdagy's advanced eDynamic® electrolyzers, known for their operational flexibility, to enhance grid resilience and hydrogen production efficiency. These electrolyzers will comply with European RED III and U.S. Treasury requirements, further emphasizing the project's commitment to quality and standards. Not only will the project contribute to the U.S. energy industry and exports, but it will also create job opportunities along the domestic supply chain. This partnership signifies a step towards a more robust and sustainable energy future in Texas and potentially across the nation.
