Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate India's first Green Hydrogen Hub under the National Green Hydrogen Mission in Pudimadaka, near Visakhapatnam, developed by NTPC Green Energy Ltd. This project, with an investment of approximately INR 1.85 lakh crore, will be a significant step towards green energy adoption in the country. The hub, spanning 1,600 acres, will have extensive infrastructure including a manufacturing unit, green chemical zone, storage terminal, desalination plant, and more. It is projected to be completed by 2032 and aims to create a substantial number of jobs while supporting India's ambitious non-fossil energy capacity target by 2030. Furthermore, the hub will contribute to sector-wide decarbonisation efforts and advance India's Net Zero goals. By positioning Andhra Pradesh as a leader in sustainable energy solutions, the Green Hydrogen Hub is expected to boost the state's standing in green energy and elevate India's energy profile on the global stage.
