Australian clean energy company Pure Hydrogen Corporation Limited has announced a strategic partnership with the Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) to supply hydrogen fuel for vehicles in Vietnam. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlines the framework for Pure Hydrogen to provide up to five hydrogen-powered buses, hydrogen infrastructure, and a 1MW alkaline electrolyser for hydrogen production. The agreement also includes the deployment of hydrogen fuel cell minibuses and coaches to demonstrate the viability of hydrogen vehicles in Ho Chi Minh City, funded by the VAHC and Vietnam Tourism Partners and Industrial Partners. The initiative is in line with Vietnam's commitment to reducing carbon emissions and transitioning to clean energy alternatives in passenger transport services. By 2030, the country aims to replace 70-90% of diesel buses with cleaner energy options. The partnership between Pure Hydrogen and VAHC aims to showcase the role of hydrogen vehicles in achieving these goals and establishing a hydrogen society in Vietnam and ASEAN. Scott Brown, managing director of Pure Hydrogen, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, emphasizing the importance of clean energy solutions for passenger transport services. Le Ngoc Anh Min, executive chairman of VAHC, highlighted the significance of the hydrogen demonstration project in promoting zero-emission transport and creating business ties between Australia and Vietnam. The MoU, although non-binding in some clauses, represents a milestone in advancing hydrogen technology in Vietnam and underscores the growing global interest in clean energy solutions.
