Ferroviarie Nord Milano (FNM) has unveiled the Coradia Stream H hydrogen-powered train in Rovato to support sustainable transport in Lombardy. The successful testing and hydrogen refueling at the Rovato depot demonstrated the operational readiness of this technology. Previously tested and approved in Germany, the train is set to operate on the Brescia — Iseo — Edolo line. FNM's H2iseO project in Brescia aims to tackle electrical infrastructure deficiencies by creating a sustainable hydrogen cluster to enhance transportation infrastructure in the region. With plans to launch hydrogen trains by 2026, FNM aims to revolutionize transportation systems in Lombardy with eco-friendly solutions. By purchasing six hydrogen trains from Alstom, FNM plans to position Lombardy as a leader in green technology in Europe, contributing to regional growth and innovation.
