Lhyfe, a key player in green and renewable hydrogen production, is expanding its operations in Le Cheylas, France, by doubling the production capacity of its green hydrogen plant. The site, named Lhyfe Le Cheylas, initially planned for 2 tonnes per day, will now have the capability to produce up to 4 tonnes per day, establishing it as Lhyfe's largest site in France. This expansion is part of Lhyfe's commitment to decarbonize mobility and industry by utilizing renewable electricity and water electrolysis. The project not only contributes to green hydrogen production but also plays a significant role in the reindustrialization of the brownfield site at the former steelworks waste storage site. The green hydrogen produced at the Le Cheylas site will be crucial in decarbonizing heavy transport like lorries and buses as well as industries such as metallurgy and microelectronics in the region.
