In November 2024, H2 Peru, the Peruvian Hydrogen Association, and the Netherlands signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Lima to promote sustainable development and advance the energy transition through the promotion of renewable hydrogen. The agreement aims to create a favorable environment for the development of renewable hydrogen in Peru and its export to the Netherlands and Europe. Objectives of the MoU include sharing good practices, promoting technological innovation, facilitating dialogue between various sectors, and enhancing commercial relations across the hydrogen value chain. This partnership solidifies a strategic alliance between Peru and the Netherlands, emphasizing renewable hydrogen as a fundamental pillar for sustainable development and industrial growth. Daniel Cámac, President of H2 Peru, expressed that the MoU with the Netherlands is a significant step towards establishing green hydrogen as a strategic element in Peru's energy transition. He highlighted the importance of international cooperation and sustainable development integrating innovation and trade for the country. Alexander Kofman, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, stated that the Netherlands sees Peru as having the potential to be a major hydrogen producer and expressed the willingness to continue technical collaboration and experience sharing with H2 Peru. The signing of the MoU marks a positive sentiment towards renewable hydrogen, showcasing a commitment to green energy and sustainable practices. This agreement opens doors for technological advancement, international cooperation, and the growth of renewable hydrogen both in Peru and as an export commodity.
