SEFE and Eletrobras have partnered with EnerTech to supply Germany with 200,000 tons of green hydrogen per year, starting from 2030. The green hydrogen will be produced in Brazil using hydropower and other renewable sources. SEFE will handle the transportation of green ammonia to Germany and then distribute the green hydrogen exclusively to European customers. The collaboration aims to secure a long-term partnership where all parties will co-own the production assets. SEFE's CEO, Dr. Egbert Laege, expressed enthusiasm about this partnership with South America, highlighting Eletrobras' leadership in renewable energy. By diversifying their energy supplies and investing in local green hydrogen production, SEFE aims to support the energy transition and ensure a stable energy supply for Europe. With a strategic plan to achieve Net Zero status by 2030, Eletrobras sees green hydrogen as a critical component in delivering clean energy alongside hydroelectric generation.
