Accelera™ by Cummins, the zero-emissions business segment of Cummins Inc., and GAIL (India) Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on green hydrogen and zero-emissions technologies in India. The partnership will leverage Accelera's hydrogen generation technology expertise and GAIL's natural gas infrastructure to explore opportunities in hydrogen production, blending, transportation, and storage across various sectors. This collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of green hydrogen in India. The successful commissioning of GAIL's green hydrogen plant in Vijaipur, Madhya Pradesh, marked the beginning of this strategic partnership. By combining advanced electrolyzer technology with GAIL's energy infrastructure, the partners are well positioned to support India's National Green Hydrogen Mission. The collaboration will also focus on knowledge sharing, industry standards development, and exploring new applications for green hydrogen technology. Electrolyzers, powered by renewable energy sources, produce green hydrogen crucial for the clean energy transition. Accelera, a leader in large-scale hydrogen production using PEM electrolysis, has deployed over 600 electrolyzer units globally. The partnership between Accelera and GAIL signifies a step towards a robust hydrogen value chain to achieve India's goal of producing 5 million tons of green hydrogen annually by 2030.
