Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav, addressed the High-Level Roundtable on the Future of Mobility at the World Government Summit in Dubai. The Minister highlighted India's automotive industry growth and its goal to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2070. Various government policies and schemes such as the production-linked incentive scheme and the electric vehicle policy aim to promote sustainable transportation and attract investments in advanced automotive technology. The Government's approval of the PM e-bus seva scheme and the $1.3 billion PM e-drive incentive scheme further demonstrate its commitment to sustainable mobility. Additionally, the National Green Hydrogen Mission with an investment of over Rs. 19,000 crores aims to position India as a global hub for green hydrogen production, reducing dependence on fossil fuels. Shri Yadav also discussed India's focus on semiconductor manufacturing through the SemiCon India program with a total outlay of Rs. 76,000 crores. The Minister emphasized the need for collective vision, innovation, and partnership to create smart, resilient, and adaptive mobility solutions for a sustainable future.
