Gentari Signs PPA with AM Green Ammonia for Green Energy Supply in India
Key Ideas
- Gentari will supply 650 MW of carbon-free energy to AM Green Ammonia's green ammonia facilities in India.
- This project includes setting up 2400 MWp of renewable energy capacity in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, along with 350 MW/2100 MWh energy storage.
- AM Green Ammonia aims to achieve five million tpa of green ammonia production by 2030, contributing significantly to India's green hydrogen targets.
- The integration of solar and wind projects, along with energy storage, will provide firm and dispatchable green power to support the ammonia facilities.
AM Green Ammonia India has entered into a binding power purchase agreement with Gentari, a green energy solutions provider, for the supply of 650 MW round-the-clock carbon-free energy to power its upcoming green ammonia facilities in India. Gentari plans to establish approximately 2400 MWp of renewable energy capacity, including solar and wind projects in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. This initiative, the largest greenfield project by Gentari worldwide, will also incorporate 350 MW/2100 MWh energy storage to ensure reliable green power supply to AM Green Ammonia's facilities. AM Green Ammonia is working towards developing a significant green ammonia platform, targeting five million tpa production by 2030 to support net zero objectives in India and the OECD markets. This production volume is expected to be equivalent to around one MTPA of green hydrogen, contributing significantly to India's green hydrogen production goals under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
