Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has entered into a partnership with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., India's largest energy company, to delve into the potential of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in the Indian market. Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the two companies aim to advance sustainable transport by testing the Hyundai NEXO, a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV), in real-world conditions. The testing phase, spanning two years with a target of 40,000 kilometers, will not only assess the performance and reliability of the NEXO but also conduct a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis to understand maintenance costs and the broader economic and environmental advantages of hydrogen vehicles in India. This initiative holds the promise of revolutionizing transportation in India by introducing greener alternatives and contributing to a more sustainable future for mobility.
