On January 8, 2025, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) announced the formation of a new joint venture company, NTPC Rajasthan Green Energy Limited, in collaboration with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL). The primary aim of this joint venture is to develop, operate, and maintain renewable energy parks and projects in Rajasthan, including solar, wind, and hybrid projects with a capacity target of up to 25 GW. Additionally, the company plans to delve into green hydrogen production along with derivatives like green ammonia and green methanol, with a goal of up to 1 million tons production capacity.
