The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has announced the results of its auction under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Program, awarding a total annual production capacity of 450,000 metric tons (MT) to various companies in India. The auction targeted increasing green hydrogen production, improving cost competitiveness, and scaling utilization through technology-agnostic and biomass-based pathways. Companies like Oriana Power, Suryadeep KA1 Project, L&T Energy Green, and others secured capacity allocations. Selected bidders are required to establish their green hydrogen production facilities within 36 months and provide quarterly progress reports to SECI. They have the flexibility to choose project locations and make adjustments during execution to ensure successful implementation of the awarded contracts.
