The first hydrogen-powered bus in Saudi Arabia was inaugurated in Al-Ahsa by Governor Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr. The bus, capable of traveling 635 km on a single charge with a capacity of 45 passengers, will connect Dammam with Al-Ahsa governorate, covering a daily distance of 359 km. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics and acting President of the Transport General Authority, Dr. Rumaih Al-Rumaih. The initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030's focus on environmental sustainability and eco-friendly technologies. The trial run, a part of the TGA's efforts, aims to support innovation and sustainable transportation to reduce carbon emissions. The partnership involves government entities and private sector companies like Al-Majdouie-Hyundai, Saudi Aramco, Air Products, and Abdullah Hashim Company. The TGA has previously launched innovative transportation projects like a hydrogen-powered train and taxi to enhance sustainability and support Saudi Arabia's environmental initiatives, including the Saudi Green Initiative.
