Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, unveiled the Bharat Cleantech Manufacturing Platform at the Bharat Climate Forum 2025 in New Delhi. The initiative aims to enhance India’s cleantech value chains in sectors such as solar, wind, hydrogen, and battery storage. Emphasizing innovation and self-reliance, Goyal highlighted the importance of reducing dependence on government support and focusing on scaling up manufacturing capabilities. The platform aims to foster collaboration, provide financing opportunities, and facilitate the exchange of ideas and technologies. India has made significant strides in renewable energy, achieving 200 GW of clean energy capacity ahead of the 2030 target and aiming for 500 GW by 2030. The nation's commitment to clean energy is evident through the proactive approach to fulfilling its Nationally Determined Contributions under the Paris Agreement. Gujarat was recognized for its role in solar energy adoption, attributed to the government's emphasis on transparency and fair competition following the 3S strategy of speed, scale, and skill. The Bharat Cleantech Manufacturing Platform is set to strengthen India's cleantech industry, aligning with the broader vision of enhancing renewable energy sector and contributing to global climate goals.
